I was commissioned to illustrate on teabags. To help their tree campaign through social media, they wanted a connection with the teabag and a tree, but something with some craft behind it. I used ink and watercolour to create a series of images. Due to the absorbent nature of the tea bags material, I had to experiment with a few methods. I decided to embrace the porous nature and let the watercolour take it’s own journey across the bag then added detail with pigment ink, which seemed to be able to resist soaking in too much.

I also got to have some fun for May 4th – Star Wars Day – when Yorkshire Tea decided to celebrate that day across social media as well.
